A Column of Cloud

Not many photographs turn out all that well when taken on a plane. I am happy with this shot of the clouds moving from one level to another. Quite breathtaking.

Prism View

Taken through one of those children's spy glasses with the view of a fly.

Fuchia

Here again there is a 3D effect, while using a flash to capture this fuchsia bush.

I like fuchias because of their vivid, contrasting and complimenting colours.

Mushrooms

I have an attraction to mushrooms, both for eating and seeing. I am not a mushroom buff and don't know the different types, so I wouldn't go eating wild ones willy-nilly! However, these were growing in my garden and made a lovely photo subject. I like the way the flash on the camera gives them a slightly 3D effect.

Capesthorne Hall In April 2008

I took this photo at Capesthorne Hall gardens in April this year. I was looking for ideas for a photographic competition I am running, entitled 'Future Pathways'. I also used this image in my blog 'Rosie's Dyslexia Group', to signify decision making. It was a late fall of snow, so I grabbed the chance to get a winter scene. Not that my photo's will be used in the competition itself, just as inspiration for entrants. The competition is open to people who access the Mental Health Services in East Cheshire. Details of which should be available in Inner Mind newsletter and blog (www.innermindnews.blogspot.com), via CPN's and other professionals in this area.

Night-time Snowfall

This was taken in our back garden in 1996.
The lavender in the foreground is still with us, but the tree in the middle is now gone. It grew too big and covered the footpath, it also housed many ants and wasps, as well as other little creatures within it's own ecosystem. The tree in our neighbour's garden has been decapitated and looks rather sad and ugly now.

I especially like the way this photo captures the falling snow and the orange sky in the background.

Early Evening Snowman

I found this lovely snowman while on a walk around our estate in 1996. He is unusual and I think he's just great!

What I like about this one is the way the sun catches him on the side and leaves his front shaded. I don't remember what time of day it was, but it looks like early evening.
